Read More	Cherokee Daily Times - Wednesday , August 15th, 1934 - Many hearts were saddened when it became known that Mrs. Chas. J. Sawvell had passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen H. Leeds, of Aurelia at two o'cIock Tuesday afternoon August 7, 1934. Flora M. Will was born on April 20, 1877, on a farm in Silver township, and lived in that vicinity until her marriage to Mr Chas. J Sawvell October 2, 1901 at Quimby. After their marriage they made their home in Savanna, IL., for 10 years, where their three children, Raymond, Howard and Ruth, were born. They returned to the Mt. Olive community in 1911 and operated the Mt Olive store for three years and since then they have lived on their farm south of Mt. Olive. Upon their return to this vicinity, Mrs. Sawvell united with the Mt. Olive Baptist church in 1911. She has been a devoted member and worker in the church having taught a young people's Sunday school class for many years and having been a helper in the varied activities of her church. She was characteristically cheerful, kind and devoted to her family and home, and was held in high esteem by her neighbors and friends. Mrs. Saw veil's health has been failing for the past few years. During this time she has received the kindly ministrations of her loved ones. Great devotion was shown and loving care given the deceased by her sister, Mrs. Rose Cooley who stayed with her during the past two years until her own illness made it necessary for her to leave. The past two months have been spent in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen Leeds. Her last illness has been marked by a willing submission, a kindly patience and a grateful appreciation of care given. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Chas. J. Sawvell of Cherokee, two sons Raymond of Sioux City, and Howard of Huron, S.D.; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Leeds of Aurelia; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Cooley and Mrs. Lura Mowbray, both of Washington, D.C.; one half sister Mrs Grace McGregor of Cherokee; one brother Freeman Will, of Hartford, S.D. and other relatives and many friends. On Friday afternoon, August 10 at 1:30 o'clock, the relatives and a group of friends and neighbors gathered at the home of the deceased where a brief service was held. The funeral service followed at the Mt. Olive Baptist church, being conducted by her pastor Rev. C.C. Minor. The text used was Deut. 23:27, "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms," A solo "Tell Mother I'll Be There," was sung at the home by C.G. Minor, and the songs used at the church service were "Does Jesus Care?" "Shadows," and "Some Day, It Won't Be Long" sung by a quartet, Pallbearers were B.H. Dubes, Floyd Allen, Lloyd Ohlson, Earl Crinpen, Roy Glidewell and Carl Magnunson. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Those attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sawvell of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sawvell of Huron, S.D. ; Mr. Freeman Will of Hartford S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sawvell and daughter, Florence, of Marquette, la. Virgil, Reuben and Amos Sawvell and wife of Iroquois; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gross and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Max Gross and family, all of Sioux Falls; Mrs. J.F. Blazek of Madison. Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hawn and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bagenstos of Holstein and Mr. and Mrs. Amos Hahn and family of Moneta, la.
