Description	:	Russellville Rustler, March, 1946 Mrs. Flora Gattermeir, well known resident of Olean, died shortly after noon, Wednesday, March 13. She was 72 years of age. Although she had been in failing health for several months, she was able to continue her usual activities when she was stricken suddenly Wednesday morning and died in an ambulance as she was being taken to the hospital in Jefferson City. Mrs. Gattermeir was born near Russellville, Mo., May 28, 1873. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Shikles. She was united in marriage to Joseph Gattermeir of Olean in 1894. To them were born four children. One son, Paul, died in 1919. Her husband established the Olean Milling Company which is now owned and operated by their sons. Mr. Gattermeir died in 1928. As a young woman Mr. Gattermeir united with the Olean Methodist church and was a faithful member until the church disbanded. After that she was prominent in the activities of the Christian church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Olean Chapter No. 156, and was a past Worthy Matron of that organization. She is survived by a son and two daughters, John Gattermeir and Mrs. John Wieneke of Olean, Mrs. C. L. Dunham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two step- sons, Almon Gattermeir of Olean and Allee Gatter- meir of Warrensburg. She also leaves one sister and one brother, Mrs. Doshia Brown of Etterville, and Haywood Shikles of Enon. Funeral services were held at the family home in Olean at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, March 15. Rev.A. L. Alexander conducted the service. A Quartet including Mrs. Priest Allee, Brooks Miller, Glen Amos and Brooks Gattermeir, accompanied by Mrs. Herman Lessing. Pallbearers were Paul Martin, Walter Lane, Heaton Haynes, C. R. Belshe, Howard McMillan and Glenn Walker. Burial was made in the Olean cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home Service. obituary contributed by Deb Jones
