Vivian Larabee was born May 20, 1914, in Haddam, KS, the daughter of Lloyd D. and Grace Blocker Larabee, and died January 11, 2009, in Minden, NE, at the age of 94 years, 7 months, and 22 days. Vivian Larabee was born May 20, 1914, in Haddam, KS, the daughter of Lloyd D. and Grace Blocker Larabee, and died January 11, 2009, in Minden, NE, at the age of 94 years, 7 months, and 22 days. The Larabee family moved from Kansas to Pawnee City, NE, in 1927. Vivian graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1932. Following graduation, Vivian worked for the local telephone company. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and it was there that she met her future husband, Keith W. Peacock. They were married in a double wedding ceremony with friends, Eddie L. and Evelyn Johnson Brown, on Thanksgiving Day, November 28. 1940. In 1941, Keith and Vivian moved to Buffalo , NY, where Keith worked for Bell Aircraft. Their first child, Sharon Kay was born in Buffalo. In 1944, the family returned to Pawnee City where their son, Roger and daughter, Grace Janelle, were born. Vivian was a mother and homemaker, later working at Pawnee County Memorial Hospital and as bookkeeper for the family business. She was a 4-H leader for many years and always active in her church. Vivian and Keith were devoted parents, grandparents and great-grandparents, traveling many miles to attend various athletic events, concert, plays and other activities. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, J. Lloyd Larabee and her sister, June Walker, as well as by her husband, Keith, on October 23, 2005. Since Keith's death, Vivian has been a resident of Bethany Home in Minden, NE. She is survived by her children and spouses, Sharon Parrish and Richard Baldwin, Red Oak, IA; Roger and Dorothy Peacock, Atkinson, NE, and Jae and Glenn Bertrand, Minden, NE. She is also survived by six grandchildren, one step-grandson, their spouses and thirteen great-grandchildren: Scott Parrish, Ashley and Skylar and Anissa and Darin Batchelor and Tinsley all of Kansas City, MO; Chris and Kendra Peacock, Malia and Major of Lincoln, NE: Christian and Karen Bertrand and Savannah of Glen Ellen, CA; Matthew and Peggy Bertrand, Zane, Paxton, and Nora of Humphrey, NE; Rachel and Christopher Pultz, Sidda and Selah of Lincoln, NE; and Eric and Nicole Bertrand, Joslyn and Emma of Sidney, NE.
