Florein was born October 19, 1923 in Alliance, Nebraska to Edward and Christina (Wills) Schwaderer. Read More	Florein Christina McCart, 87, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. Florein was born October 19, 1923 in Alliance, Nebraska to Edward and Christina (Wills) Schwaderer. She grew up on the family farm thirteen miles west of Alliance with her two sisters and one brother and attended school at District #22. On March 5, 1945 she married the love of her life, Virgil E. McCart, at Alliance, Nebraska. They spent their honeymoon on a train traveling to North Carolina where Virgil was stationed in the Army. While there, she worked in a factory making Levi Jeans. In 1946 Virgil was discharged from the Army and they journeyed back to Nebraska to live and raise their family on a farm west of Alliance. There they milked cows and raised sheep and chickens. Later in life she worked for several years at the Legion Supper Club before it burned down, then at the Woolrich Factory and successfully retired fifteen years later. Florein was an avid crocheter, quilt maker, and had accumulated an enormous collection of dollies which she was always proud to show off. Family gatherings were always a priority for her. Her love for cooking was always evident by the feasts she put on, no one left her house hungry. She also loved being outdoors tending to her flowers and her garden in the summer. In May of 1992 she and Virgil reluctantly retired from the farm and moved to town. Florein was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. John's United Lutheran Church. Florein is survived by her children, Wayne (Shirley) McCart of Hemingford, NE, Donna (Ron) Romick of Alliance, NE, Janet (Shannon) Crouse of Ashby, NE and special nephew, Jerry (Isabelle) Schwaderer of Denver, CO. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tracy (Bill) Bennett and Lisa (Chad) Thomas, all of Alliance, NE, Neil Romick of Gering, NE, Chrissi Crouse of Hershey, NE, Kelly (Kevin) Dorney of Evergreen, CO, and Dani (Ron) Parson of Berthoud, CO; six great grandchildren; her sister Bertha Rosenfelt of Scottsbluff, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Florein was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil, son Ray, two brothers Arthur and Edwin, and her sister Erna Rosenfelt. Burial was in the Alliance Cemetery, Alliance, NE.
