She died at her home in York, Neb., April 17, 1942, in her forty-second year. Ashmore, was born at Martland, in Fillmore County, Nebraska, December 24, 1900. She died at her home in York, Neb., April 17, 1942, in her forty-second year. In the year 1902 her parents moved to McCool, where she resided until 1920, attending the schools in that town until her graduation from high school in 1919, and the next year removing with her mother to York where she has since resided. In the fall of 1919, she enrolled in York College and received her A. B. Degree in 1925. During the years 1921-24, she taught school at Bladen, Neb. In the fall of 1925 she began teaching in York city schools where she has been engage continuously since that time. At the age of ten years she joined the McCool United Brethren Church, and later transferred her membership to the First United Brethren Church of York, of which she remained a faithful, loyal member to the end. Miss Ashmore was also an active member of the Vera Blinn Chapter of the Ottermein Guild. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Martha Ashmore, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Vannice of York, three brothers, A. E., J. L., and H. V. Ashmore, all of Omaha.; by two nephews and two nieces, and a number of other relatives. Miss Ashmore was kind and cheerful in disposition, never complaining even though for a long time her health had not been the best. She was thoughtful and considerate of others, and ready to render deeds of service as opportunity offered. A host of friends with whom she lived and worked will share with her kindred in sorrow at her departure. Funeral services in charge of Rev. G. T. Savery were held at the York United Brethren Church Sunday, April 19, and the body was laid in the family lot at Exeter beside that of her father, who died in 1918. The York Teller April, 1943.
