FLORENCE SIDELL BURIED WEDNESDAY Mrs. Florence Evans Siddell, well known and highly respected matron of this community, died on Sunday, Jan. 13th, while on a visit with her daughter, Mrs. William McKown of Norge, Va. She was 87 years of age. For some years she had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Amos Lawson. Born in Westover, this county, she was a daughter of the late William and Priscilla Dryden Carver. A women of fine presence, intelligent and energetic, Mrs. Siddell had made many warm friends by her unfailing interest in people and her helpfulness to them. She was active up to the time of her death, and every one who knew her held her in high regard and sincere affection. She reposed at the Covington Funeral Home until Wednesday at noon, when she was taken to Asbury Methodist Church, where she lay in state until 2.30 p.m., when funeral services were held, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Robert E. Green. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. C. A. Bartley of Dover, Del., Mrs. Amos Lawson of Crisfield, Mrs. William B. McKown of Norge, Va., and Mrs. Henry Seidel of St. Louis, Mo., two sons, Norman Evans of Baltimore and Charles V. Evans of Philadelphia, 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
