Florence Topp was born March 9, 1914, in Larabee Township, rural Grace City, ND, the daughter of George and Lura (Whitman) Stedman. She was raised and attended school at Grace City. On April 9, 1932, Florence was united in marriage to Howard O. Topp at Devils Lake, ND. They lived in Billings, MT, and Washington state.... She died at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, January 2, 2001. Florence Topp was born March 9, 1914, in Larabee Township, rural Grace City, ND, the daughter of George and Lura (Whitman) Stedman. She was raised and attended school at Grace City. On April 9, 1932, Florence was united in marriage to Howard O. Topp at Devils Lake, ND. They lived in Billings, MT, and Washington state. In 1942, they moved to Juanita, ND, where they farmed until Howard died in April of 1977. Florence later moved into Carrington. Florence loved the Lord, her family and the farm. She was dedicated to visiting family members at Golden Acres Manor for many years. She was a member of Juanita Methodist Church, Juanita Ladies Aid, and had been active in Sunday school. She was also a member of Grace City Methodist Church. Since moving to Carrington, she had attended Calvary Baptist Church, Carrington. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Robert) Schlittenhart, Bismarck, ND, and Carol (Gaylon) Griffey, Binford, ND; five grandchildren; one foster grandchild; ten great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Cora Dreher, Jamestown, ND, Luella (William) Ragg, Wahpeton, ND; and Laureen (Edwin) Hjelseth, Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son-in-law, one grandchild, four brothers and three sisters.
