Saturday evening at 6 o'clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Clemens, uncle and aunt of the groom, Mr. Roy Shotwell of Perrysville and Miss Florence M. Davis of Kilgore were married by Rev. S. A. Peregoy. The groom is the eldest son of T. W. Shotwell, prominent farmer of Perry Township. The bride is the only daughter of G. M. Davis, and a charming young lady. She was attired in a beautiful dress of white embroidery. They have rented a large farm near Sandyville to which they will move in a few days accompanied with the good wishes of numerous friends. Wedding in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, February 29, 1912. Roy J. Shotwell, of Lamartine, and Miss Florence Davis, of Kilgore, who has been employed in the Park Hotel, were married Saturday evening in the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Clemens, by Rev. S. A. Peregoy. Mr. and Mrs. Shotwell will move next week to a farm near Sandyville. Her obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, August 22, 1912. Mrs. Roy Shotwell died Friday in her home, near Bolivar, from heart trouble and was buried Monday. The services were conducted in the Perrysville Methodist Episcopal church, Which she joined when 13 years old. Her maiden name was Florence Davis, and she was born November 18, 1869, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Davis, of Kilgore. She was married February, 1912, at Carrollton to Roy Shotwell. She is survived by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Loyd and Raymond. Her obituary in the Free Press Standard, Thursday, September 5, 1912. Florence Shotwell died at her home near Bolivar, August 16, 1912, of heart failure. Her remains were taken to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Davis, of Kilgore from which place the funeral was held on Monday. Interment was made at Perrysville, Rev. Stahl, of Harlem, assisted by Rev. Bower, of Leesville, officiating. Florence Davis was born November 18, 1889, baptized in the infancy, converted and joined the M. E. Church at Kilgore during the pastorate of J. O. Davidson, and lived a consistent christian life and was loved and respected by all who knew her, in fact to know her was to love her. The deceased was married to Roy Shotwell on February 24, 1912. Besides her husband she leaves her parents, two brothers at home, and a host of friends to mourn her death. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Smith, of Amsterdam; Mrs. Delos Slates, Mrs. Edward Slates and daughter Una, of Means; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Slates, Elmer Slates and family, Ed Wood, Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Shotwell, Mrs. T. J. Davis, Mrs. John Buxton, Mr. and Mrs. John Shotwell, of Carrollton, and Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Long and W. S. Shotwell, of Tabor.
