Born in San Francisco, Mrs. Fassio was a longtime resident of the Santa Cruz area and attended local schools here. She was an avid tennis fan and enjoyed watching the matches on the television. She was an active participant at the stroke center and loved going to lunch with Cindy's Celebrations. Mrs. Fassio is survived by her daughters. Sharon Ann Fassio of Aptos, and Geraldine Enez Caso of Santa Cruz. She also leaves her eight grandchildren. Angelina. Denise. Vincent, Jennifer, Tami, Christopher, Michael, and Michelle, and twelve great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister, Eleanor Carrigan of Santa Cruz, and sisters in law. Enez Spezia of Aptos. and Trudy Fassio of Santa Cruz. She was preceded in death by her husband. Dario Fassio in 1991 and her son, Dario Fassio Jr. in 1994. Services will be on Wednesday at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel (1050 Cayuga St.) in Santa Cruz, beginning at 11 a.m. Friends may pay their respects at the chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband and son at Oakwood Memorial Park. The family prefers that remembrances be made to Cindy's Celebrations - (320 Carrera Circle, Rio Del Mar. Ca. 95003). Published in the Santa Cruz Sentinel on September 22, 2002
