Born Oct 8, 1912, near Eldon, she was the daughter of Guy and Mabel Hodson Acton. On Dec. 22, 1934, she married Clarence P. Talbott in Batavia. He died Sept. 19, 1975. Mrs. Talbott farmed with her husband in Wapello and Jefferson counties, retiring to Birmingham in 1975. She graduated from Eldon High School in 1930. She was a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a 4-H leader and a member of Farm Bureau. Survivors include three sons, Raymond Talbott of Osceola, Virgil Talbott of Fullerton, Calif., and David Talbott of Lake Zurich, Ill.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Maxine DeBurn of Ottumwa. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham United Methodist Church. The body has been cremated. The memorial service for Mrs. Talbott will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds. A memorial has been established for Birmingham United Methodist Church.
