She lived with her family in Sac County until 1913, when they moved to Minnesota, and in 1919 they moved to a farm northeast of Waverly in Warren Township. Hoth Mrs. Walter W. Hoth, 86, of Waverly, died Thursday evening, July 22, at the Shell Rock Care Center in Shell Rock. Florence Smith, was born on January 15, 1896 near Odebolt, Iowa, the daughter of John and Flora Houston Smith. She lived with her family in Sac County until 1913, when they moved to Minnesota, and in 1919 they moved to a farm northeast of Waverly in Warren Township. Florence taught country school for two years near Odebolt and for one year near Waverly. On June 3, 1922 she was married to Walter W. Hoth in Waverly. The couple farmed in Warren Township until they retired in 1959 and moved into Waverly. Florence became a resident of the Shell Rock Care Center on March 11, 1978. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waverly. Mrs. Hoth is survived by her husband, Walter, one son, Donald of Orlando, Florida, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Currie of Schaller and Mrs. Alice Currie of Odelbolt, and one brother, Neil Smith of Waverly, two grandchildren, Ronald Hoth and Jane Garbareno, and two great-grandchildren, Tony and Andi. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and one brother. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Chapel in Waverly with Rev. Arthur R. Kirk officiating. Burial was in Warren Evangelical Cemetery, Waverly.
