Description	:	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The Mountaineer, Big Sandy, MT, 22 March 1922 Obituary Florence Gordon was born in Zanesville, Ohio, Feb. 16, 1860, and departed this life Feb. 24, 1922. She was the daughter of Dennis and Margaret White. At the age of six months she moved with her parents to Adams county, Iowa. Deceased was married to Harry L. She was the daughter of Dennis and Margaret White. At the age of six months she moved with her parents to Adams county, Iowa. Deceased was married to Harry L. Gordon, Oct. 27 1881, and to them were born four children, the eldest of whom, Edith, died at the age of six months. The others are Mrs. Mabel Hurd, Big Sandy, Mrs. Forest Chandler and Fred E. Hurd of Hardin, Mont. Her husband preceded her in death, passing away Jan. 6, 1906, at Bozeman, Mont., where they moved in 1903. In 1911 Mrs. Gordon came to Big Sandy where she proved up on a homestead. Besides her children, deceased leaves to mourn her death two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Beally of Nodaway, Iowa, and Mrs. Margaret Orme of Tolt, Wn. After the death of her husband Mrs. Gordon made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hurd, except during the time she proved up her homestead. Deceased was ill about two weeks, the immediate cause of death being influenza and bronchitis. Death came quite unexpected as during the day Friday she seemed to be quite cheerful and conversed with those who were with her. That the spirit of youth remained with her is attested by the youthful friends with whom she associated and in whom she took much interest. Rev. Christler of Havre conducted the funeral services Monday afternoon. To those who mourn her death is extended the sympathy of many personal friends.
