Description	:	Flossie was born December 15, 1897 in Timber Creek Area Marshall County, Iowa the daughter of Walter Joshua and Edna ( Hull ) Thompson. Flossie attended Timber Creek Township School through the 7th grade. at which that time she stayed and on the farm to help her family. On August 25th she married Henery August Essen in Grundy Center Iowa. They lived in the Marshalltown area throughout their lives. In 1942 Flossie was baptized as a Jehovah's Witnesses for 56 years. Read More	Flossie was born December 15, 1897 in Timber Creek Area Marshall County, Iowa the daughter of Walter Joshua and Edna ( Hull ) Thompson. Flossie attended Timber Creek Township School through the 7th grade. at which that time she stayed and on the farm to help her family. On August 25th she married Henery August Essen in Grundy Center Iowa. They lived in the Marshalltown area throughout their lives. In 1942 Flossie was baptized as a Jehovah's Witnesses for 56 years. One of her greatest joys was sharing with people in the community the hope of God's Kindom. She preformed her door- to- door ministry faithfully every Wedesday and Saturday morning. Flossie is remembered also for her love of childern, her talent for making braided rugs and her simple lifestyle. At the time of her death she is survived by one brother, Russell Thompson of Newton; one sister Edith Thonpson Meeker of Liscomb; by four step-grandchildern, Robert Prescott of Marhalltown, Donna Anderson of Marshalltown, Lillie Thomas of Knoxville , and George Prescott of Merriville, MN and by numerous step - great- grandchildern, and step great-great grandchildern. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965; by her mother and father; by two step- childern, Gladys Prescott and Covin Essen; a step granddaughter, Bonnie Moody in 1997 and 10 brothers and sister's. Althrough Flossie had no childern of her own, she had a large family of friend from the Riverview and Westwood Congregations of the Jehovah's witnesses who helped her through out her life. Flossie is buried at the riverside Cemetery!
