Brown, well-known Star community farmer, who passed away May 5th following an illness of four years. The Rev. Eugene Alexander was in charge of the services. Mrs. Delbert Ford and Mrs. Roswell Jordan sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Shall We Gather at the River" accompanied, by Mrs. Leverne Smith. Floyd Cecil, son of Henry E. and Anna Wilson Brown, was born on February 1, 1900, at the Brown homestead in the Star community. Floyd was married on February 5, 1927, to Miss Katie Cromwell at Boone. They began housekeeping where he had built a nice house, on a farm he had purchased adjoining the Star church. They made this their home continuously until he passed away. Mr. Brown was a member of the Star Methodist church, and was always interested in community affairs, a good husband, father, neighbor and friend. His parents preceded him in death. Floyd is survived by his wife, who has given him constant loving care during his illness; his son Dwight; two brothers, Roy of Scranton and Gurney of the Star community; three sisters, Mrs. Bruce (Iva) McLaughlin of Pleasant Ridge; Mrs. Loren (Golda) Dobsen of Coon Rapids and Mrs. Beryl (Gertha) Gymer of the Star community. He also leaves other relatives and many friends.
