A lifetime resident of Comanche County, he was manager of the Protection Co-op Locker Plant in Protection for 31 years, also working for Briggs Ranch and selling produce from his garden. He belonged to Coldwater United Methodist Church, the National Frozen Food Locker Association, was past president of Kansas Frozen Food Locker Association and was past president of the Bit and Spur Club in Protection.
