Description	:	Floyd James Williams, 97, Manson, co-founder of Chelan Box and Manufacturing Co., died Friday, Jan. 15, 1988, in Regency Manor, Chelan. He was born Jan. 31, 1890, at St. Peter, Minn., to Robert and Laura Williams. He spent his early years there, attending Gustavus Adolphus College in Mankato, Minn. Read More	Floyd James Williams, 97, Manson, co-founder of Chelan Box and Manufacturing Co., died Friday, Jan. 15, 1988, in Regency Manor, Chelan. He was born Jan. 31, 1890, at St. Peter, Minn., to Robert and Laura Williams. He spent his early years there, attending Gustavus Adolphus College in Mankato, Minn. He came to Spokane in 1910 where he began working with Great Northern Railroad. He moved to Leavenworth where he met Alta G Castleberry and they married in Everett on April 12, 1917. After living in Leavenworth for a time, they moved to Wolf Point, Mont., where he continued his work with the railroad. They moved to Disautel in 1925 where he began working in a lumber mill, then moved to Omak where he worked for Biles-Coleman Lumber Co. They moved to Chelan in 1930 and in April 1931, he and Harry Wall opened the Chelan Box and Manufacturing Co. in Manson. He retired in 1965 and was also an orchardist, having been part-owner of the Wall and Williams Orchard, under the Sprotsman label. Mr. Williams was a 65-year member of the F&AM and the Scottish Rite Bodies, holding longtime membership at the Chelan Valley Lodge No. 118. He was also a 50-year member of the El Katif Shrine, Spokane, a member of Eagles Aerie No. 2218, Chelan and he had attended the Chelan Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Robert, of Rathdrum, Idaho; a daughter, Frances E Wise of Manson; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1969, by two brothers and five sisters.
