Read More	Birth & death edits and links to parents sent by PassingTime (47816658) ************************ Pittsburg Morning Sun, Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, page 6A: Floyd John Imhof Floyd John IMhof, 77, of Cherokee, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at his home. Mr. Imhof was born April 1, 1930, at Stone City, KS, the son of John Samuel and Florence Alberta Crowder Imhof. He attended schools in Maplewood, West Mineral, Cherokee Grade Schools and Crawford County High School at Cherokee, before starting to work in the area coal mines to help support his parents. After an injury in the mines, he attended Moler Barber Systems in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduation and passing both Missouri and Kansas Boards, he worked in Columbus, Weir, West Mineral and Cherokee as an apprentice barber. He worked in Ft. Scott before opening his own shop in August 1963, next to their residence in Cherokee. He retired in 2005. On December 25, 1950, he was united in marriage to Georgia Luella Heitz at Cherokee. She survives at the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Brent Imhof of Cherokee and Steve Imhof of Girard; two daughters, Brenda Lemmons and Annette and her husband, Brett Stacy both of Pittsburg; four grandchildren, Brian Lemmons of Newton, KS, Jana and her husband, Mike Austerman of Arma, Kenna Patterson and Brittany Stacy of Pittsburg; one great-granddaughter, Kailyn Austerman of Arma. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ralph and one sister, Lois and her husband, Clyde Connor. Services for Mr. Imhof will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007, at the Brenner Mortuary, with Rev. Jim Sukraw officiating. Burial will be in the Cherokee City Cemetery, Cherokee, KS. Friends may call at the Brenner Mortuary after 11 a.m. Sunday where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The family suggests memorials to the USD #247 Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
