Description	:	Floyd Schwede, 84, Berthold, died Friday, April 23, 1993, in his home of natural causes. He was born May 26, 1903, on the family farm near Hartland, to Edward and Amelia Schwede. He was raised there and attended country school near the farm home. He later went to Minnesota and worked in the hay and harvest fields. He married Valda Hanson, Aug. 28, 1934, in Berthold. Read More	Floyd Schwede, 84, Berthold, died Friday, April 23, 1993, in his home of natural causes. He was born May 26, 1903, on the family farm near Hartland, to Edward and Amelia Schwede. He was raised there and attended country school near the farm home. He later went to Minnesota and worked in the hay and harvest fields. He married Valda Hanson, Aug. 28, 1934, in Berthold. They farmed on the family farm until moving to Oregon where he was employed in a chair factory for a couple of years. Returning to North Dakota, they purchased a farm near Berthold and farmed until his retirement In 1979. Upon his retirement they moved into Berthold. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, an officer of the Passport school and township boards for many years, the Eagles Aerie No. 2376 in Minot for over 45 years, the Carpio and Berthold Senior Citizens,which he was also the custodian for several years. He was active in the Berthold community. Survivors: wife, Berthold; sons, Melvin, West Glacier, Mont.; Gerald, Berthold; daughter, Judith Deaver, Berthold; sister, Lulu Sloan, Chester, Mont.; seven grandchildren. Funeral: Tuesday at 11 a.m. In Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold. Burial: Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold. Visitation: Monday from 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Thompson- Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
