Fommo married Caroline Harmina Schlomer on Jun. 26, 1881 in Wheatland Presbyterian Church, Breda, IA. 11 children were born to this union; John F., Coord, Hinderk F., Harry F. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Mr. and Mrs. Fommo Sinning came to Lennox in the spring of 1888. They settled on a farm three and one-half miles south of here. Mr. Sinning passed away at their farm home on August 8, 1908 at the age of 57 years, and Mrs. Sinning continued to reside on the farm enterprise until 1917 when she withdrew from her routine and made her residence in Lennox. She passed away November 29, 1937. Both members of this early couple became affiliated with the Lennox Presbyterian church. Mr. Sinning was born April 18, 1851 in Germany and came to America with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sinning, in 1869. The family settled first in Illinois, later at Ackley, IA., and then near Wall Lake, IA., where he later married. Mrs. Sinning, nee Caroline Harmina Schlomer, was born in Warsingfehn, Ostfriesland, Germany, March 31, 1857. In 1875 she came to the United States in company with two younger sisters, locating at Minonk, IL. They lived there for several years and then immigrated to Carroll county, Iowa, where she was later united in marriage to Mr. Sinning, in 1881, at Wall Lake, (IA.) Eleven children were born to this union, namely: John and Harry Sinning, of Canton; Cody, of White River, S. D.; Rev. Henry F. Sinning, of Kamrar, IA.; Richard Sinning of Marion, S. D.; Carrie (Mrs. U. B. Heetland), of Ackley, IA.; Fommo Sinning, of Monroe; George Sinning, of Franklin, Neb., and Charles, Ailert and Edward Sinning, all of Lennox.
