He died Saturday in a Chico convalescent hospital. Glenn was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Newton, Kan., to George and Florence Glenn. He died Saturday in a Chico convalescent hospital. Glenn was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Newton, Kan., to George and Florence Glenn. The family moved to Durham in 1925, and owned and operated a walnut orchard. He graduated from Durham High school and attended Chico State University until 1942, when he entered the Air Force. Glenn received the American Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. After his discharge in 1946, he worked and lived in the Durham area as a carpenter. In 1952 he married Lottie Hendrickson of Paradise, and they moved to the Bay Area. He manufactured over-head garage doors, and retired in 1979 to Durham. Glenn was a member of the American Legion Post No. 673 in Durham. Survivors include his mother of Chico; a daughter, Connie Maxey of Chester; two sons, Larry Abshier of Missouri and Jerry Glenn of San Francisco; two sisters, Norma Shirley and Velma Boone, both of Durham; and four grandchildren. A sister, Carleen Jaquith, died previously.
