Description	:	Forrest Krieger, 70, Stanton, died Sept. 28, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT Thursday, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanton, with the Rev. Jay Spoonheim officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of Forrest's friends. Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike and Shawn Piatz, Jesse Krieger, Bill Bohrer, Clyde Boyko and Larry Klindworth. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. MDT today, at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. MDT today, at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen. Forrest was born Nov. 20, 1926 south of Hazen in Oliver County, the son of Gust and Olga (Buchmann) Krieger. He grew up in that area and attended school through the 8th Grade in the Spring Brook District. On Feb. 8, 1945 he married Violet Mauch in Beulah. They continued living south of Hazen-Beulah, farming the homeplace, the Johnny Maier place and the Eisenbrown place. In 1958, Forrest and his dad purchased the old Schafer-Knoop Ranch, north of Stanton, and the family moved up there. Violet passed away Oct. 21, 1981. Forrest ranched until 1983. On April 29, 1983 he married Frances Kilber at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Hazen. He worked as a meat cutter at Stanton Super Valu until his death. Forrest served on the Mercer County Weed Board for many years and also served on an Oliver County School Board for a time. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Frances; his mother, Olga, Knife River Care Center, Beulah; one son, Jesse, Stanton; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jody Thernes, Sundance, Wyo., Pam and Mike Piatz, Stanton, Tanya and Dennis Bell, Upton, Wyo., and Rainy and Mark Hahn, Hazen; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four stepsons, Butch and Linda Kilber, Virginia Beach, Va., Doug and Trudy Kilber, and John and Eldora Kilber, all of Bismarck, and Kevin and Sheila Kilber, El Cajon, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Carolynne and James Blann, Omaha, Neb., Kathy and Larry Klindworth, Stanton, and Donna Slinde, Bismarck; 12 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Forrest was preceded in death by his father; his first wife, Violet; one sister; one son-in-law; and two grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
