Description	:	Foster was born June 7, 1924, in Kenmare, ND, the son of Earl and Edith (Dollahon) Ankenbauer. He was reared and educated in the Kenmare area and attended Elmdale Country School. On April 13, 1946, he married Theresa Elaine Wirtz in Plentywood, MT. In 1946, he entered the United States Army and served during World War II. He was stationed in Japan until he was discharged in 1947 as a sergeant. He returned to Kenmare where he owned Ankenbauer Coal Mine northwest of Kenmare. He also worked for the Kenmare Creamery for ten years, until he bought the dray line... Read More	Foster was born June 7, 1924, in Kenmare, ND, the son of Earl and Edith (Dollahon) Ankenbauer. He returned to Kenmare where he owned Ankenbauer Coal Mine northwest of Kenmare. He also worked for the Kenmare Creamery for ten years, until he bought the dray line in 1957, and in 1958, added the sanitation service. He owned and operated Ankenbauer Dray Line and Sanitation Service for over 40 years. He retired in 1991, but remained active with the company until his health failed. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Agnes Catholic Church, both of Kenmare. In 1959 he became a member of the Kenmare Fire Department and served twelve years as an officer and three years as chief. He remained active with the Kenmare Fire Department until 1997.
