Son of Cyrus William Rash and Dorothy Williams OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 11, 1920 FOUNTAIN F. RASH Fountain F. Rash was born in the state of Kentucky, August 20, 1861, and died at his home in Warren township, Lucas county, Iowa, March 9, 1920, at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 19 days. In the year 1863 he came with his parents to Lucas county and has been a resident of this county since that time. On September 28, 1881 he was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie C. Brock. To this union three children were born, two sons, Roy and Everett of Derby, and one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Smith, of Cherryvale, Kansas. He was converted under the preaching of Rev. P. C. Nelson at about the age of 27 years and identified himself with the May Baptist church, later transferring his membership to the Eden Baptist church, where his membership remained until the Master called him home. The deceased was of a quiet disposition, a good neighbor, a kind father and husband. In the passing of this brother the church loses one of its number and the community a good citizen. Besides the wife and children he leaves an aged father and mother, four brothers, James, of Humeston, William, George and Alfred, of Derby, and two sisters, Mrs. Bettie Stephens, of Centerville and Miss Emma Rash, of Derby, who is caring for the aged parents. Besides these are a host of friends and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the late home March 11, by Rev. M. S. Clark, after which the remains were taken to their last resting place in the Murray cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in this sad affliction that has come to their home, being the first death in the immediate family.
