He had been afflicted with a complication of diseases for a few years, and at times his sufferings were intense. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Rash, and was born in Lucas county on July 23, 1882. He was reared and grew to young manhood in the neighborhood where he was born, and was well known in Warren and Union townships. He was converted at the Hazel Dell schoolhouse, under the ministry of Rev. Orr Campbell, and was baptized in the June, 1903, and identified himself with the Eden Baptist church. In his earlier Christian experience he was a regular attendant at Sunday school and church, but in later years, his health being impaired, could not attend the services as regularly. He was of a quiet disposition, but friendly and sociable in his manner, and always congenial. He will be greatly missed in the neighborhood and in the home circle. He leaves to mourn his going his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Rash, and one brother, Everett Rash of Derby, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Smith of Humeston. His brother was at his bedside when he passed away. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. M. S. Clark, were held at the Eden Baptist church on Saturday forenoon at eleven o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Murray cemetery. The sympathy of innumerable friends will be extended to the bereaved ones.
