Description	:	Edwin Volk was born August 16, 1928, at Raleigh, the son of Elias and Agnes (Braun) Volk. He attended grade school in Raleigh, and high school in Raleigh, Shields and Flasher. He received his theological training at St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota. Father Volk was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Bismarck May 21, 1956, by the Most Reverend Lambert Hoch. Read More	Edwin Volk was born August 16, 1928, at Raleigh, the son of Elias and Agnes (Braun) Volk. He attended grade school in Raleigh, and high school in Raleigh, Shields and Flasher. He received his theological training at St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota. Father Volk was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Bismarck May 21, 1956, by the Most Reverend Lambert Hoch. Father Volk's first assignment in the Diocese of Bismarck was as assistant pastor at Church of St. Leo in Minot, where he served from June to August in 1956. In 1956 he became assistant pastor at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, and served in that capacity until 1959. He was then appointed pastor of Church of St. Philomena in Glenburn, where he served until August 1964. In 1964 he was named pastor of Church of St. Mary, Golva, until 1968 at which time he was named pastor of Church of St. Joseph in Dickinson until 1982. In 1982 Father Volk was named pastor of Church of St. Nicholas, in Garrison, where he served until August 1983. In 1983 he served as associate pastor at Church of St. Mary in Bismarck, until July 1984, at which time he was named pastor of Church of St. Joseph in Beulah, where he served until the time of his death. While serving as pastor at Beulah, Father Volk also served as parochial administrator at Church of St. Martin, Hazen, from July 1989 to October 1989, and as administrator of Church of Saints Peter and Paul in New Hradec from January 1984 to July 1984. He is survived by nine sisters, Anna Moran, Valentina Bruington, Magdelena Ferderer, Lydia Brown, Sister Maria Volk, Angelina Brown, Theresa Schriock,Evelyn Miller, Barbara Scheetz; five brothers, Basilius, Amandus, Eugene, Adam and Melchior. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother and one brother, Leo. Father Volk was well loved by those he served. May he now experience the fullness of God's grace. May he rest in peace.
