Miss Frances Bougger, daughter of Mrs. Frank Bougger, living two miles east of David City, died at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, in St. Mary's hospital, Columbus, where she had undergone a surgical operation for a ruptured appendix a few days before. Her death was unexpected and a great shock to her family and friends, as she was thought to be getting along nicely. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a. m. Firday, Jan. 24 at St. Mary's Catholic church, David City. Rev. Bernard Sproll conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Father Waggeman of David City, Rev. Patrick Harte of St. Francis Catholic church, Center township and Rev. F. Mock, of St. Mary's Catholic church, Luxemburg. The church choir, composed of Rose Smith, Caroline, Cecilia, Margaret and Grace Birkel, Loretta and Blanche Danaher, Elizabeth Vanderheiden and Richard and Alfred Meysenburg, with Sister Plenpia at the organ, sang the Requiem High Mass and "Ye Sons of the Faithful." The pallbearers were Nich Hein, Jr., Everett Hein, John Medinger, Jr., Joe Medinger, Joe Speicher and Frank Speicher. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, David City. Frances Bougger was born in Butler county February 5, 1909, and at the time of her passing was aged 20 years, 11 months and 17 days. She was graduated from the David City high school with the class of 1927. Her father preceded her in death a couple of years ago. She is survived by her mother and three sisters and two brothers, namely Mrs. Frank Ekler of Crete, Caroline, Josephine, Leo, Augustine and Catherine.
