Read More	Married in Highland County on March 17, 1872 Highland Recorder August 7, 1925 GOOD WOMAN GONE Mrs. Fannie Lowman Hiner died Friday night at her home just west of Monterey after a long period of declining health. She was a victim of that dread disease, pernicious anemia, and while medical science and a resort to blood transfusion were means of prolonging life, no permanent relief could be afforded, and death was not unexpected. Mrs. Hiner was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lowman and was born more than 71 years ago in the county of Rockingham. In her girlhood days she came with her parents to Highland and the remainder of her long life was spent here. In the year 1872 she became the wife of Gideon J. Hiner, who preceded her to the grave several years ago. Of the children who lived to reach mature life, two survive, Tate Hiner, a resident of Marlinton W, Va., and Jesse Hiner, with whom she made her home. She was the last surviving member of her father's family but had many near relatives in this and adjoining counties. In the passing away of Mrs. Hiner the community has sustained a real loss. If there was any one who bore her ill will, it is not known; on the other hand she claimed every one as a friend. Her life was such as to radiate happiness and good feeling, and her kind, jovial disposition made her companionship a real pleasure. Only the cycle of years and furrows of time indicated that she had grown old, this spirit of cheerfulness and smile of welcome ever awaiting visiting friends and kindred to limit of consciousness. Those who knew her well were not surprised at the calm and peace that she enjoyed at the the sunset of life.
