Mrs. Hedrick, who was 75 years old, had been a resident of Cascade county for the last 44 years and for the last two years had made her home with her daughter here. With Mr. Hedrick, who died in this city in 1926, Mrs. Hedrick first came to Montana in 1888 when they located on a homestead near Belt. Later they acquired another ranch in that vicinity and made their home in the Belt district until 1926, when they moved to Belt. Mr. Hedrick died that same year. Mr. and Mrs. Hedrick started for Montana in 1886 from Texas with wagons drawn by oxen. It took them two years to make the trip overland. Mrs. Hedrick, before her marriage in 1876, was Miss Frances A. Johnson. She and Mr. Hedrick moved from Missouri about a year and a half after their marriage and moved to Texas for eight years. The trip from Missouri to Texas was also made by oxen team. Mrs. Hedrick was a native of Tennessee. Surviving relatives are four sons, Isaac Hedrick, of Stone Hill, Mo.; John Hedrick of Belt; Neil Hedrick of Great Falls; and Henry Hedrick of Simms; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Sanders and Mrs. Peter Martin of Seattle and Mrs. Frost of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Morris of Armington and Mrs. Theodore Danielson of Spokane; two brothers, Baxton Johnson of Highwood and Walter Johnson of Belt; and 17 grandchildren.
