Description	:	Frances Elizabeth "Liz" Johnson passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Hemingford Community Care Center at the age of 93. Liz was born May 7, 1918 at Palmer, Nebraska to Henry T. and Anna Zuvilla (Brendle) Zeller. In 1924 her family moved to Hemingford. Liz graduated from Hemingford High School and attended Chadron State College for one year. She then worked at the Hemingford Ledger, Farmers Union Store and Hansen Blacksmith. Read More	Frances Elizabeth "Liz" Johnson passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Hemingford Community Care Center at the age of 93. Liz was born May 7, 1918 at Palmer, Nebraska to Henry T. and Anna Zuvilla (Brendle) Zeller. In 1924 her family moved to Hemingford. Liz graduated from Hemingford High School and attended Chadron State College for one year. She then worked at the Hemingford Ledger, Farmers Union Store and Hansen Blacksmith. In 1941 she married Leon Hansen. They had two daughters, Jane and Mary Sue. In 1955, the family moved to Omaha and then in 1958 they moved to Blair, NE. Liz was active with the Lutheran Girls Club and the Church Circles. She worked for 12 years as a cook and kitchen supervisor at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, NE. Her husband passed away in 1971 and in 1977 she returned to Hemingford when she married Lamar Johnson. He passed away in 1992. Liz was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Hemingford Community Care Center, the United Methodist Church and Church Circle. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, one brother and one sister. Liz survivors are: daughters and their husbands, Sue and Lowell Madsen and Jane and Bill Parks; stepdaughters, Carol and John Hennings and Cathy and Marvin Spath. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Inurnment was in the Hemingford Cemetery, Hemingford, NE.
