Description	:	"Fannie" was born and raised in Jackson Co KY. After her first marriage, she and her infant son migrated north to Wayne Co IN where she met and married Merida (Merdy) Smith also of Jackson Co. Smith and his two daughters formed their blended family. While residing in Germantown, IN, they added four more children. After 1935 the family made their home in Dublin IN where the last two children completed their family. Smith and his two daughters formed their blended family. While residing in Germantown, IN, they added four more children. After 1935 the family made their home in Dublin IN where the last two children completed their family. Fannie was a determined and resourceful woman; overcoming typhoid fever when she was fourteen left her with a strong will to survive and succeed. Canning large gardens, making beautiful quilts out of fabric scraps and keeping her large family well fed via her industrious sized cast iron skillet left her well known. Being a kind and concerned neighbor came easily; always at the ready to serve her community. The first question as one entered the door, "Have you had anything to eat?" No one could refuse her delicious meringue pies and banana pudding. Sending out all occasion cards was a necessity to Fannie. Personal relationships were a priority. She had the ability to make one feel very special. Much patience was always given her many grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was her family, who cherish her memory.
