Description	:	The Creighton New Oct. 19, 1978 Rites Held For Adams Funeral services were held for Frances I. Adams Oct. 14, 1978 at the United Methodist Church at Verdigre with Rev. Robert L. Hopkins officiating. Burial was in the Enterprise Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Scott Adams, Ross Adams, Ronald Walton, Darrel Walton, Dwight Walton and Gary Johnson. Bernard, Wendell and Wayne Strope accompanied by Betty Frank sang 'Beyond the Sunset' and 'Whispering Hope.' Frances Isabelle Adams was born to Hans and Fredericka Stoltenberg on March 13, 1895 at Pleasant Valley, Ne. She attended country school and grew to womanhood on the family farm which her father homesteaded on Oct. 9, 1876. 0n Feb. 7, 1917, she was united in marriage to Perry Oliver Adams. They lived on the farm for 40 years of their married life. In October of 1957 they moved to Creighton to retire, and then because of failing health, they became residents of Alpine Village at Verdigre in October of 1976. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 7, 1977. Frances was a member of the United Methodist Church at Creighton, and was an active member of the W.S.C.S. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Orchard Chapter. Also, she belonged to several clubs at Creighton which she greatly enjoyed in her later years. She passed away October 11, 1978 at the Lundberg Memorial Hospital at Creighton at the age of 83 years. She leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Esther) Johnson of Holstein, Ia., and Mrs. Bruce (Dorothy) Walton of Veridgre; one son, Perry W. Adams of Mitchell, Ne.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry; daughter, Marie; granddaughter, Cindy; her parents; four brothers, Edward, Henry, Albert and Hans; five sisters, Anna Rice, Mattie Longacre, Hattie Mitteis, Freida Mitteis and Della Ellerbusch.
