Description	:	Frances GOSS Adam was born January 30th, 1848, in Sasbach, Baden, Germany. She was the daughter of Landolin and Katharine Goss and a sister of Tony, Joe, Roman, Leonard and Vendalene Goss and Mrs. Helen Knudson, all of Dwight, and Mrs. Josephine Rapp of Junction City. She came to America in 1867 and settled in St. Louis, MO. The same year she was united in marriage to Fred Adam. To this union eight children were born, two preceding the mother in death. She came to America in 1867 and settled in St. Louis, MO. The same year she was united in marriage to Fred Adam. To this union eight children were born, two preceding the mother in death. Those surviving are: Fred G. of White City, Kans., Chas. and W.W. of Latimer, Kans., Mary Freeman and Annie Benson of Herington, Kans. and Emma Brewer of Garden City, Kansas. Twenty-five grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren are decendants of this noble Christian mother. She passed away to her eternal glory Saturday, June 6th, 1931, at 3:15 p.m., having lived 83 years, 4 months and 6 days. Hopefully and uncomplainingly she bore the hardships common to pioneer life. She came to Kansas in 1871, settling in Parkerville, where her husband for some years had a shoe shop. Later they bought a farm south of Parkerville in the Delavan neighborhood. After years of hard toil and failing health they moved to Herington where she could be near the church of her choice. On Monday morning at 10 o'clock her body was borne to St. John's Church. Mass was celebrated by Father Fitzgerald. She was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery by the side of her husband.
