Davis died at 5:35 a.m. Dec. 29, 1986, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born Aug. 15, 1907, in Russell to John and Mary Hamilton. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she had been a cook at Sunnyslope, at Jefferson Square Manor. She was a member of Free Methodist Church, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 114. She married Paul Cain Dec. 23, 1925, in Ottumwa. He died Sept. 13, 1973. She then married Woodrow Barcus. He also preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Wayne Cain of Ottumwa and Jack Cain of Reno, Nev.; three daughters, Betty Garcia of San Deigo [sic], Carol Alderson of Ottumwa, and Barbara Bennett of Odessa, Texas; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Fort of Bloomfield. Burial will be in Agency Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Thursday.
