Nichols, 74, died at 9:25 a.m. Saturday at her home on Ottumwa route 1. She was born October 16, 1883, at Cambridge, Ind., the daughter of John and Alice Fletcher, and had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 35 years. She was married November 22, 1930 at Kirksville, Mo., to Clifford Nichols who survives. Other survivors include two sons and two daughters, Gaylord Hamilton, La Mesa, Calif.; Edgar Hamilton, Seward, Alaska; Mrs. Paul Fort, Bloomfield, and Mrs. Paul Cain, Ottumwa; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two brothers, Amos Fletcher and Joe Fletcher, both of Ottumwa, and a half-sister, Mrs. Cora Means, Melrose. She was preceded in death by her first husband and one son. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Reece funeral home in charge of the Rev. Wilson Hyde, pastor of the Wesley Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
