Description	:	Cascade Pioneer, April 28, 1921, page 8, column 5 Miss Fannie McLees In addition to the announcement of the death of Miss Fannie McLees, in last week's issue of the Pioneer, the following is taken from the Monticello Express: "Frances Margaret McLess was the daughter of George and Frances Pinkerton McLees. She was born at Wellsville, Ohio, and was brought by her parents to Jones county, Iowa, in 1857. She was born at Wellsville, Ohio, and was brought by her parents to Jones county, Iowa, in 1857. The family settled on a farm in Richland township, where the father and mother resided until their death. Miss McLees, after receiving a common school ducation, attended Mt. St. Joseph's, a sister's academy in Dubuque, and prepared herself for teaching. She taught a year, and then took up dressmaking which to her was more congenial work to her. She established a shop in Monticello in 1876, and continued the same, with the aid in later years of Miss Celia Bobleter, until death called her from physical toil. Miss McLees was an industrious, accommodating and painstaking woman, and more than a few patrons realized this in the manner in which she overworked herself in order that she might accommodate them. She was not neglectful of her religious duties, and because of her uprightness in her daily walk, she must have received the salutation of "thou good and faithful servant." Miss McLess is survived by two brothers, John McLees, of Monticello, and Charles McLees, of Cascade."
