Mrs. Mary McLees Died in Dubuque Saturday. The death of Mrs. Mary Ann McLees occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. A. Driscoll in Dubuque last Saturday afternoon. She had lived to an advanced age, a long useful and Christian life, and when in the fullness of time God saw fit to call her to that heavenly reward prepared for His faithful, she peacefully passed away among the shadows of eternity. Mary Ann Murray was born in county Roscommon, Ireland, in 1823, and at the age of 20 came to the United States. She was married to Martin O'Brien in 1845 and came to Iowa in 1852. Three children were born to them, Ellen, now Sister Mary Lucella, of Our Lady of Angels Seminary, of Lyons; Henry O'Brien, of Chicago, and Mrs. S. A. Driscoll, of Dubuque. Mr. O'Brien died five or six years after their marriage. She was married to George McLees, of Richland township, in 1858 and to them two children were born: Ida, who died at the age of two years, and Charles McLees, of Washington township, Jones county. Her husband died in June 1884, and besides her family enumerated in the foregoing, she is survived by her brother James Murray, of West Cascade. The remains were brought, from Duhuque Monday, arriving here in the afternoon, and burial took place from St. Martin's church at 2 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Driscoll accompanied the remains.
