Frances was born March 23, 1922 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Emmett Henry and Anna Louise (Eckley) Meyer. Frances graduated from the Stanhope High School in 1939. Read More	Frances Madonna Peter, age 92, of Boone, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Boone County Hospital in Boone. Frances was born March 23, 1922 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Emmett Henry and Anna Louise (Eckley) Meyer. Frances graduated from the Stanhope High School in 1939. On April 13, 1941, Frances was married to Marvin Frederick Peter at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Frances was a homemaker and helped her husband with farming in Harrison Township, Boone County for 40 years. In 1981 the couple moved to 1216 14th Street in Boone, and in 2001 she moved to 1922 Cedar Street in Boone. Frances was a member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She participated in the Ladies Society, Lydia Circle and Choir. She was a member and past president of the Women’s Club, a member of the Women’s Club Chorus for several years and she was a 4-H Leader. She was a star basketball player in 1937, 1938 and 1939 at Stanhope High School. Frances enjoyed playing Bridge with groups of friends over the years. After retiring, Marv and Fran enjoyed traveling around the country. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1988 and her son Joseph in 1995. Frances is survived by her son Tom E. Peter (Judy) of Ames, Iowa, her daughter Ann Nessa (Charles) of Whitehall, Michigan, daughter-in-law Robin Peter of West Des Moines, Iowa, her 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild .
