She was born June 10, 1926, east of Humboldt, KS, to Edward Carl and Myrtle Mae (Beeman) Nordt. She attended school in the Humboldt area. On March 3, 1946, she was married to Robert D. Foster at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt, KS. The couple moved to Independence, KS in 1952. She worked as a seamstress in her home for 25 years, making dance costumes,and designing and producing the original "Little House on the Prairie" dolls. She and her daughters designed and manufactured cloth dolls as the Sister Moon Company for more than 10 years. She also worked for the Independence Social and Rehabilitation Services. She was active in the Zion Lutheran Church Auxiliary for 50 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert; three daughters, Connie Phillips, Bartlesville, OK, Janet Mendoza, Olathe, KS, and Robin Barone, Coffeyville, KS; five granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Three sisters and a brother died earlier. Services Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Independence, Kansas under the direction of Potts Chapel, Independence, Kansas. Graveside services will be Saturday in Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas. The Rev. Ron Oldenettel will officiate at both services. Memorials may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church, 303 S. 10th, Independence, KS, 67301. ***********************
