She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Wessignton Springs, S.D., the daughter of Alfred V. and Nellie Mae Reynolds Ward. On July 28, 1946, she married John "Pee Wee" Fowler at the houghton Rectory in Houghton. Read More	Frances Mae (Ward) Fowler, 86, of Montrose, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the Montrose Health Center. She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Wessignton Springs, S.D., the daughter of Alfred V. and Nellie Mae Reynolds Ward. On July 28, 1946, she married John "Pee Wee" Fowler at the houghton Rectory in Houghton. She and her husband had resided in Montrose, all of their married life of 57 years. Mrs. Fowler graduated from Presentation Academy at Whittemore, in 1937. She had been employed as a telephone operator in Montrose and later worked for the Central Lee School System as a secretary for 12 years, retiring in 1978. She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Fowler enjoyed playing bingo, going to garage sales and sitting on her patio watching the kids play. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include: her husband; three sons, James of Green River, Wyo., Edwin and his wife RaeLynn of Fort Madison, and Ronald of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren, Nicole, Jason and Brandon Fowler; and one great-granddaughter, Delilah. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Paul Fowler in 1984; two sisters, Caroline Cowden and Eunice Burger; and two brothers, Charlie and Ed Ward. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Surial will be in the Montrose Cemetery. Visitation is today with family meeting with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montrose Fire Department or the Montrose Cemetery. Obituary found in Daily Gate City Newspaper clipping.
