Frederick Elmer Brassfield was a neighbor by whom she gave birth to twin boys in 1933 (born as Charles Frederick Cochran & Arthur Francis Cochran, but later adopted and re-named as Alton Fredrick Jensen & Allen Francis Jensen). Records are scarce but it appears Frances had a difficult life. The twins were taken at 2 months of age and placed in an orphanage, where they were later adopted out at 6 months of age. At least some of her other children seem to have been spread out as well. By around 1936 or so she had married her 2nd husband, Francis Treftly "Treff" Provancha (who'd had at least three children from his 1st wife but had divorced). Together Frances & Francis "Treff" had a daughter, Beulah Mae, but Frances died one week after having given birth to Beulah Mae (who later went by "Virginia"). FRANCES PROVANCHA The funeral services of Mrs. Frances Provancha, 41, of Sioux City, who died Tuesday night in a Sioux City hospital, will be at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon in Becker's funeral home in South Sioux City. Rev. W. Manges will officiate. Interment will be in the cemetery at Lyons, Neb. Mrs. Provancha was born March 19, 1896, in Bancroft, Neb. She was a resident of Thurston county, Neb., most of her life. Survivors include the widower, Francis; three sons, John and Leverse Provancha [Cochran] of Sioux City and Franklin Crochan [Cochran] of Sioux City; four daughters, Mrs. Sadie Thurston of Chicago, Mrs. Tony Persch of Omaha and Miss Odia [Audrey] Crochan [Cochran] of Geneva, Neb., and Beulah May [Mae] Provancha of Sioux City, and a brother, Joseph Jump of Lewiston, Mont.
