Woods was born at Prospect Hill, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, May 19, 1843 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora Barkley, December 1, 1928, being at the time of her death, 85 years, 6 months and 12 days old. She was married to Henry W. Barber at Fowler, Trumbell County, Ohio, February 15, 1866. She was married to Henry W. Barber at Fowler, Trumbell County, Ohio, February 15, 1866. Barber, Ransom, Kansas, Claud J. Barber, Bellingham, Washington, Mabel I. Lynn, Millie A. Jackson, Dora B. Barkley, all of Ransom. She also leaves 33 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren, two brothers, Wm. D. Woods of Beaver City, Nebraska and David L. Woods of Beaumont, Texas, besides a host of friends. Her faithful companion of almost 60 years preceded her in death almost 3 years ago. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a friend to everyone in need, was always ready to help the sick and suffering to the limit of her strength. In early life she obeyed her Savior and has been a faithful member of the church of Christ at Ransom, Kansas, for years. Her departure leaves a vacancy that never can be filled but we sorrow not as those who have no hope. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, December 3, at the M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. J.M. Briggs of the church of Christ. She was laid to rest in the Ransom cemetery. Ransom Record, Dec. 6, 1928
