Interment, Prospect Hill Cemetery. 1948 The Ceresco News; Ceresco, Nebraska; Thursday, April 22, 1948, page 1 FRANCES MILLER MOORE RITES HELD SATURDAY Mrs. *Frances Miller* Moore**, a daughter Sabastian and Mary Miller, was born at Springfield, Illinois on April 19, 1854. As a small girl she came west with her parents and settled on a farm homestead near Wahoo, where she attended the public school and grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to John W. Moore in Wahoo, December 6, 1874. To them six children were born: namely, Mrs. Jeanette Rock, Valley; John W who passed away in his early youth; Robert of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Prudence Forcade, Ceresco and Mary who died at the age of three years and Mrs. Ruby Tichnor of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Moore were early settlers in the vicinity of Ceresco farming northwest of town in the Harrell and Bouc neighborhood until the summer of 1886, when they moved to a farm 8 miles south of Valley. In 1894, they moved to a farm near Little Sioux, Iowa and reside there six years, returning to the old farm south of Valley where they made their home until the death of Mr. Moore in 1904. Mrs. Moore then returned to Ceresco to reside and where she lived the rest of her life with the exception of a period of years spent with her daughter in Omaha. Mrs. Moore passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Forcade on Tuesday, April 13, at the ripe old age of 93 years, 11 months and 14 days. Besides her daughter, Prudence; the other three children are Jeannette, Robert and Ruby; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one brother, Henry Miller of Rock Island, Washington. She was a member of the Methodist church many years. She spent her life in the care and rearing of her family, mingled with much hard work, which characterized the early pioneers. She was worthy homemaker, and excellent cook and very artistic at handwork such as rug making and the like. The funeral rites for the aged mother was held Saturday afternoon at Charles Swanson mortuary at Valley, Nebraska. Rev. Hamilton officiated. The hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" were sung. Serving as pallbearers were the six grandsons, Jack Forcade, Carroll and Charles Moore of Kansas City; Clyde Moore and Bob and Vernon Rock of Valley. Interment was in Prospect Hill cemetery east of Waterloo, Nebraska.
