Mrs. John Rezek, nearly 85 years of age, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Agnes Janovy, in North David City, at 6:30 o’clock Wednesday, Nov. 28. She had been unable to get about much since suffering a fractured hip two years ago, but otherwise was in good health until stricken with pneumonia six days before her death. Frances Nadhanzl was born in Krasne Hore, Czechoslovakia, on March 9, 1850, grew to young womanhood there and was married there to John Rezek. In 1900 Mr.and Mrs. Rezek came to the United States and located in Butler county, Nebraska, which was their home the rest of their lives. Mr. Rezek and several small children preceded Mrs. Rezek in death. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Koubik, Mrs. Anton Bures and Mrs. Agnes Janovy, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rezek was a kind and affectionate wife and mother, patient in her suffering, and was loved and respected by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic church, David City, Rev. Father Murphy in charge. Joseph Hruby, Joseph Mashek, Joseph Pokorny, Frank Rerucha, Edward Sauser and Frank Blazka were pallbearers. Burial was in St. Anthony’s Catholic cemetery at Bruno, by side of the grave of her husband. __ Card of Thanks – We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all our neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us at time of sickness and death of our dear mother.
