Musick departed this life at her late home on Monday night, February 11, after a prolonged illness. She has been a sufferer for years and it was known that any improvement could be only temporary. Richards was born at Hartal*, Logan County, Ill., August 28, 1849. She was married to John R. Musick in the same county, August 28, 186. To this union were born seven children, two of whom died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Musick removed to Nebraska, February 27 and settled on the home place three miles south of Edgar, where her son, Arthur, now resides. In early life she and her husband were converted and joined the Christian Church, of which she continued a member till her death. Mr. Musick passed in the other world on January 3, 1903, and her youngest daughter, Mrs. Maud Mallory, died January 28, 1921. Mrs. Musick had been in very poor health for over four months and her death was not unexpected. She was a most patient sufferer and never complained. Mrs. Musick passed away Monday evening, February 11, 1924, aged 74 years, 4 months and 14 days. She is survived by one daughter and three sons: Mrs. Elizabeth J. Gunn and Arthur Musick, of this place; Howard A. of Hastings; Oscar R., of Summerfield, Kan.; twenty-two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two brothers, Ben F. and Albert Richards, both of Edgar. The family is well and favorably known in this vicinity and the deceased will be greatly missed by her family and numerous friends. Mrs. Musick was a woman of strong character. She was a lover of ome and gave her entire attention to her children and grandchildren when her health permitted. Funeral services were conducted from her late home on Wednesday, February 13, at two o'clock, Charles A. Shook, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery. The house and yard were filled with scores of old neighbors and friends who came to show their esteem for the departed and to express their sorrow with the living. Mr. Shook took his sermon from the 21st chapter of Revelations. A quartet composed of Miss Mirth Skinner, Mrs. Inez Hart, J. G. Wal* and C. S. Voorhees, furnished the music, rendering three selections, "Jesus Is Mine," "My Jesus is Thou Wilt" and "Nearer, My God to Thee." The pall-bearers were six grand-sons.
