Description	:	Francis E. Staley Mr. Francis E. Staley, 98, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, passed away Tuesday evening, December 8, 2020 in the nursing home. Born May 27, 1922 in Adams County, PA, he was the son of the late William and Nellie (Overholtzer) Staley. Mr. Staley served with the United States Army for 3 years during World War II, mostly in Japan. Staley Mr. Francis E. Staley, 98, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, passed away Tuesday evening, December 8, 2020 in the nursing home. Born May 27, 1922 in Adams County, PA, he was the son of the late William and Nellie (Overholtzer) Staley. Mr. Staley served with the United States Army for 3 years during World War II, mostly in Japan. He and his wife, the late Mona Mae (Ferguson) Staley, were married on August 14, 1940 in Smithsburg, MD. They moved to Pennersville Road in Blue Ridge Summit in 1942. Mrs. Staley died on September 30, 1999. Mr. Staley retired as Fire Chief from Fort Ritchie, Cascade, MD, in 1975, following more than 26 years of service. He and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Punta Gorda, FL. He is survived by his siblings, Robert Staley of Westminster, MD, Doris Liggon of Hagerstown, MD, and Ruth Utz of Pasadena, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Staley, who died on May 11, 1984 and Philip E. Staley, who died on February 23, 2014; and six siblings, Bernard Staley, Kenneth Staley, David Staley, Mary E. Bailey, Paul Staley, and Caroline Beard. Private graveside services will be held in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mark's Lutheran Church, P.O.
