He was formerly employed as a millwright at Wyandotte Industries for many years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a lifetime member of the Bourque-Lanigan Post American Legion, the MacCrillis-Rousseau Post VFW and the Disabled American Veterans group. In 1997, he was awarded the honor of'' Man of the Year'' by the American Legion Post. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Rita (LaForest) Bourgoin of Winslow; 1 daughter, Darlene Ames and husband Donald of Hampton, Virginia; 1 brother, Philip Bourgoin of Waterville; 1 sister, Lucille Waraskevich of Winslow; 1 grandchild, Renee Burwell of Hampton, Virginia; and 1 great-grandchil, Emma Burwell of Hampton, Virginia. He was predeceased by his sister Pearl Hachey and his half brother Henry Pelletier and half sister Louise Carrigan. Committal prayers with Military honors will be at the Maine Veterans Cemetery Mount Vernon Road in Augusta, Maine. (Gallant Funeral home)
