Skinner, a well-known citizen of this city, died at his home Sunday afternoon, February 6th (1921), following an illness extending over some months. Skinner, a well-known citizen of this city, died at his home Sunday afternoon, February 6th (1921), following an illness extending over some months. The funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon of this week, conducted by the pastor, Dr. W. P. Nicholas. The interment was at Elmwood cemetery. Mr. Skinner will be greatly missed by his family and scores of friends. He was of that jovial disposition that made him popular in town and country. He was always greatly interested in his home town. Many times, in conversation with the publisher of this paper, he would express his deep interest. in Morning Sun and community and all that pertained to the general welfare of all. The family have the sincere sympathy of all in his death. Francis Edgar Skinner, son of Suannah and Joshua Skinner, was born December 14, 1857, in Louisa county, Iowa, on a farm five miles northwest of Morning Sun. He was 63 years old at the time of his death. His father enlisted in the Civil War and died soon after leaving his wife and two small children. The family then moved to Morning Sun. Mr. Skinner was united in marriage to Harriet Margaret Jarvis, October 11, 1883, at Oswego, Kansas. To this union were born two daughters, Maude and Frances, who, with the mother, remain to mourn his death. Mr. Skinner and his family moved from Kansas to Morning Sun in 1891, and here he spent the remainder of his life. His mother and his sister, Mrs. J. W. Fent, preceded him in death.
