Showalter, who died May 26, 1914, and is buried in Grave 7. Later, when Francis H.P. Showalter passed away in a nursing home in Blair, Nebraska, his body was brought to Ridge cemetery for burial beside his wife, Annie. The National Archives show that from 1920-1930, Francis and his wife Annie lived in Lincoln, Nebraska. There are no children listed in their home, but cemetery records list at least one infant "of Frank Showalter" as being buried in this Block 250. Francis' wife, Annie came from Poland, and her parents spoke Polish. Frank was born in Illinois. In 1920, Francis, 54, was working as a night clerk in a hotel, and Annie, 44, took care of the home. A 1927 City Directory shows Francis and Annie living at 2700 S. 17th St. in Lincoln, Nebraska. Francis was out of work, but Annie brought in money by working as a seamstress out of their home. In 1930, the US Census lists Francis, 65, with no income for the year, but Annie, 53, was the breadwinner, still working as a private seamstress. In those days, Crowell Home in Blair, Nebraska, took in indigent people, including couples. Annie passed away on June 20, 1942 at age 68, and Francis died at age 77, five months later, on November 22, 1942. Crowell Home has several rows of pauper graves in the Blair Cemetery, with names and identical headstones. In this case, Annie and Francis already had grave plots in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont, Nebraska, purchased for them by John H.
