Frank Kaslon Sr. was born in German Poland on November 8, 1852 and passed away at the home of his daughter Mrs. Rupert Kowalewski near Ashton, Neb., on January 7th, 1931, about ten a.m. at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 29 days. Death was due to old age. Mr. Kaslon had not been ill, but seemed to waste away, and about a month ago he went to stay with his daughter on the farm. He came to America with his parents in 1863 and the family settled at Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, where they lived for about three years and where the father passed away. In 1866 he came with his mother to Sherman county and resided on a farm three and one-half miles southeast of Ashton until three years later when they moved to what is known as the Kaslon homestead, five and one-half miles southwest of Ashton. In 1875 he was married to Miss Estella Grudzinski and they made their home at the homestead where they lived until sixteen years ago, when they moved to Ashton. Mrs. Kaslon passed away at Ashton on January 10, 1917. They were the parents of seven children, all of whom survive. They are; two sons, Frank J. Jr. and August R. of Ashton; five daughters, Mrs. Rupert Kowalewski, five and one half miles southwest of Ashton, Mrs. Stanley Sonnenfeld of Posen; Mrs. Fred Wrehe of Buffalo County; Ms. Stella Janukevicz of Litchfield; Mrs. Sam Reasland, three miles south of Rockville. The deceased has been a well known citizen of Sherman County for the past forty-eight years, living most of his life in the vicinity of Ashton. All of the bereaved and sorrowing relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sorrow. Obituary contradicts some obituaries of the chldren who are listed as born in Poland. He married and resided in Sherman County most of his life.
