Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon for Frank Poole who passed away in Oskaloosa Wednesday evening, Nov. 18. The Rev. R.M. Peters of he Methodist Church conducted the services, which were held from the Steffy Funeral home. Mr. Poole made his home in this city at one time. Burial was made in the local cemetery. At the time of his death, he was 66 years, 9 months and 28 day of age. Frank Poole, son of Francis and Fidelia Poole, was born January 21, 1876, near Gibson, Iowa, and died November 19, 1942 at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 28 days. He was united in marriage with Carrie E. Huffman, January 21, 1896. To this union one son, Cloyd, was born who passed away at the age of 7 months. The wife preceded her husband in death in March, 1927. In the summer of 1896 just a few months after his marriage the deceased was stricken with a fever which left him paralyzed, and he has been an invalid since that time, going about in a wheel chair for 46 years. The deceased has been preceded in death by one brother, Steward Poole; and four sisters, Mrs. Ida Waterhouse; Mrs. Nellie Ferneau, Mrs. Rosa Walden, and Mrs. Alma Phelps; and is survived by one brother, Delbert Poole of Marshalltown, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Todd of Los Angeles, Calif, Mrs. Emma Ross and Mrs. John Smith of Montezuma.
